The Kayoborder glaze is inspired by the traditional style of ceramics used for Sado (Tea Ceremony) in Japanese culture. Kayoborder glazes can feature slight texture, subtle crackel effects, irregular markings and natural colour movement, all of which are due to the nature of pigment and 24 hour firing method used in Japan. The original Kayoborder white 19 x 144mm stacked mosaics feature at the Award-Winning Caroline House, as designed by Kennedy Nolan. Photopraphs by Derek Swalwell are featured above and below.
